France Cottage
France Cottage is a beautiful period cottage situated within a village location in the South Downs National Park. It offers all of the charm of a cottage originally built in the 1700s, but incorporating many of the conveniences of modern day life. Even the name has a strong connection to the history of the area. There was a prisoner of war camp close to the cottage housing French prisoners of war from the Nepoleonic Wars (1793-1815).
The cottage is fully equiped to help make your stay comfortable. The kitchen has a good sized fridge freezer, microwave, double electric oven, 5 ringed gas hob, dishwasher and washing machine. With a very particular nod to the past there is also a Victorian walk in larder. The living room has an open log fire as well as providing dining facilities and a relaxed seating area with TV and DVD player. There is also small dvd library and selection of games. The master bedroom is a spacious king sized double. The remaining 2 bedrooms are smaller being single rooms. The bathroom contains a bath, toilet, sink and basin. There is free WIFI throughout the cottage for your convenience. All bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided.
The garden is a good size and for the sole use of the guests staying at France Cottage. A table and chairs are provided on the east facing patio making it the perfect place for breakfast and lunch on sunny days. There is also a BBQ provided for those who like the alfresco experience to include their cooking as well as the dining.
